Our contractor finished up the windows finally! Next we are moving on to painting the walls and installing the window trim. I wanted Cameron to make trim around the window because I’m very picky and didn’t want the contractor to mess with it.
I decided on a kitchen cabinet color, Sherwin Williams accessible beige. (The cabinet company we most likely are going with only had a few set colors but I liked them more than KitchenMaid’s color choices)
My gray walls don’t really go with the beige very well so I’m painting the kitchen and living room walls Benjamin Moore white dove. It will be a nice change since I’m getting a little tired of the gray. Also, the white will be good because our ceilings are white too and it will help the rooms feel bigger to have it all one color.
I’m still deciding on the exact tile for the backsplash. I know I want white 3x12 subway tiles but ideally I’d like them to be more matte since everything is visible from the living room. However, I don’t think I could go totally matte since they need to be wipeable. So many decisions!
We are waiting on a few other details before we submit our finally plans for the cabinets. The first is we need to figure out what size of microwave and insert kit we are using since the microwave goes in the cabinetry.
The second thing we are waiting on is a quote on the cabinets from another company.
Accessible beige is much lighter than the swatch above in real life. I painted a bunch of my current cabinets all different colors to be sure it was the right one. It looks great in my kitchen because I have so much north light.

Countertop is quartzite. I took a picture when I was at the countertop place last time because I wanted to make sure it would still work with our cabinet color I chose. It’s white but it has a lot of gray in it. I’m hoping the silver in the handles and pendants will pull all the elements together.
I would have normally never gone with silver fixtures but on the beige they look so good. The contrast of the warm cabinet and cool silver pulls really makes it pop!
